crafting for little peoples.

For the last couple of weeks, my Mum and I have been meeting for one reason only. To turn these charity shop clothes.....

into these....
and then sew them into these!
I become a godmother this weekend, and for some reason I offered to make bunting to decorate the village hall after the service. I 've actually really enjoyed this project, as has mum I think, and once we worked out what we were doing, it was quite simple. Working with the charity shop fabrics was good too, very cost effective I think, an exercise in coordinating random fabrics, and who knew you'd be able to get 15 flags out of a mans shirt?! my mum has crazy cutting skills.
We ended up with 20 metres of bunting, in 2 metre lengths, but I could have made more with the fabric we had. we only stopped because we ran out of tape! My mums taken the bunting on ahead of me, so once I've seen the hall decorated I'll take a photo of it up to show you. I enjoyed this so much that once I knew what sex another friends new baby was, I bought more fabrics to make her a set too!
Last night I also quickly put this together for my lovely little Goddaughter.
Its made from cream cord fabric, and a scrap of her baby blanket. I'd never done this before and I'm quite pleased, although I need to be careful with the edges when I make the next one.
