my workspace (less of a wonder)

For those of you who have been asking to see my loom.

Small but perfectly formed, it can weave up to 9m long, and 80cm wide.

I've had a bit of a purge in the room, it had become worse than a dumping ground, and more of a non-negotiable tip, which provided me with an excuse not to be working. Its taken me about 4 hours, but now I have a weaving table which only houses weaving equipment, and a sewing table that houses my machine. I've got rid of about 6 things from the room to freecycle, and organised all the boxes of rubbish still sitting unsorted since it moved from my parents. I'm still storing a lot of stuff, we've been hoarding things for our next house for about a year now, the wedding is starting to take up space (5 boxes as of today) and I have boxes of treasures that I can't bear to part with from my childhood, but they are better hidden in the room now, theres so much floorspace I barely know what to do with it all!

  1. I could not be more jealous of your loom. The room looks like a place of creativity. I am a hoarder, but I also love a big purge!

  2. WOOOO HOOOOOO thank you thank you thank you. What lovely light you have coming into the room I imagine that helps with the inspiration. Amazed you create such beautiful things from that little loom. Seriously in awe lady. We have a loft which is FULL of stuff, I'm not really a hoarder but O won't throw anything away.

  4. ah what an illusion of productivity and creativity i present to you all.
R- every time I've walked into this room for the last month I've thought, dammit I must take a photo for her. and that was the only time that day that the light was good, but there is a big bay window in front of me, which helps.
Mrs T - thats exactly how this room has been for ages! its a bad idea putting the bed just inside the door.

  5. I hope you realise how much I appreciate the pictures. I clapped my hands together with glee and did that little bounce in the chair thing that I do (hoping others do too). Wanted to point out the awesomeness of the carpet! Sorry the shopping trip wasn't all it should have been can I help? x

  6. It looks so beautiful with the sunlight on it. Lovely, thank for sharing. And thanks for pointing out my pic on Tea for Joy, I've not had much internet recently and might have missed it (and the associated happy feeling!) if not for you :)

  7. R, thnk you for pointing out the carpet, it is truly amazing. this room was intended to be the living room, but when we moved in the carpet (looks like vomit and is 20m sq), the fireplace (gigantic, overbearing, creepy, and gas) and the awful window seat (I'm all for window seats but not when they are tacked on in the 70's covering up lovely paneplling) all deemed this room unusable as a living room. although it did mean that it was large enough to use for storage/spare (double) double bedroom, and workroom for me.
Becky, I thought that might be the case, and even if not, who doesnt like to be told that someone has seen their work elsewhere, and of all places, tea for joy? nice one!
